Youth Ministries calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness – pointing out the sacred in the midst of the chaos of adolescence and walking faithfully with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Youth Ministries is a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and hopefully, transformation. Responding to the spiritual needs of teens is about building trusting relationships.
St. John's Church strives to walk with our young people on their journeys from childhood to adulthood, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their desire to make a difference in the world. |
Camp Information

These facilities are Kirchenwald, Nawakwa, and The Wittel Farm. They offer a wide variety of outdoor experiences in a uniquely Lutheran tradition.
Summer camping programs for young people are offered at Kirchenwald and Nawakwa. Programs such as sports camps, outdoor wilderness camps, canoe camps, bike camps, and the traditional small group resident camp programs offer a wide variety of exciting programs for young people. There are also retreat programs for all ages throughout the year.
Did you know that St. John’s will help pay for camp? We will pay ½ of the fee for each child or youth going to a regular week of camp.

Kirchenwald
Kirchenwald is located on 340 acres of undeveloped timberland, adjacent to 4000 acres of State Game Lands, in Colebrook, PA. The camp averages over 400 campers a summer, focusing on adventure trip camps and growth through challenge. Campers travel to the Adirondack Mountains, the beaches of Assateague Island, Maryland or enjoy the climbing tower, climbing wall, ropes course, lake, and sports activities at the camp. Nawakwa
Nawakwa is located outside Arendtsville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Wear a Nawakwa sweatshirt and you're sure to run into someone who's been there. That's because Nawakwa has been an outdoor gathering place for Lutherans since 1929. We are proud of that history, and seek to preserve well-loved traditions as well as look ahead to new ways of sharing the Word. Our 336 wooded acres provide hiking opportunities, outdoor chapels, playing fields, volleyball and basketball courts, ropes course and a swimming pool. Click HERE for Nawakwa summer programs. |
