We are a community of faith strengthened by the incredible history gifted to us through God's grace. We are a worshiping community that has worshiped together for more than 266 years. And even though our building may be old, our Spirit isn’t. We continue to offer God's Word and Sacrament to the community and the world we live in. We hope that the welcome we speak to you is one that looks and feels like a welcome that comes to you from God. God's Work, Our Hands Sunday – CWS Cleanup Bucket Donations- Donations needed by Sunday, September 6th.

As part of God's Work, Our Hands Sunday, St. John's will once again be assembling Church World Service (CWS) Cleanup Buckets to help families recover from natural disasters and other emergencies.

We are asking for donations of the specific items needed to fill these buckets. Please take a moment to look through the sign-up slots below and choose one or more items you would be willing to donate.

An Amazon link has been provided in the comments as a guide to the type of item we are looking for. You do not need to purchase that exact item or order through Amazon—it is simply there to provide examples and specifications.

Our goal this year is to assemble 30 Cleanup Buckets that will be distributed to people in need through Church World Service.

Thank you for helping us be the hands and feet of Christ by bringing hope, healing, and practical support to our neighbors in times of crisis. Every donation makes a difference!

St. John's provides free washing and drying to anyone in need every first Tuesday of the Month.

Laundry Love takes place each month at the Spring Forge Shopping Plaza: N Main Street, Spring Grove, PA 17362. We provide the quarters and the love, you just show up with your clothing that needs washing between 5:30pm and 7:00pm.

Mobile Food Pantry- Volunteer to Help!

The Abbottstown/ East Berlin Food Pantry will be open (Dates and hours below). Guest will be able to self select food and house hold items from the trailer.

Hours Open:
  Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at
Trinity Lutheran Church, East Berlin.
  Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm at
  St. John's Lutheran Church, Abbottstown.*

*Volunteers are being asked to arrive at 2:30pm. Also, if you are sick, please stay home.
