Abbottstown / East Berlin Food Pantry
We collect and donate food to our local food pantry, plus several of our members volunteer each month. In partnership with New Hope Ministries the Mobile Food Pantry comes to Trinity Lutheran Church in East Berlin on the First Wednesday of the month and to St. John's on the First Thursday of the month to help those in need. Each pantry is open from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and serve approximate 250 individuals between the two locations.

Community Meal Ministry (PAL)
St. John’s prepares a meal ever six weeks at the Hanover Area Council of Churches off of Carlisle Street in Hanover.  At each meal we serve approximately 100 people who are in need at no cost to them.

Angel Tree & Christmas Blessing Express
Each Christmas season, St. John’s sponsors the “Angel Tree” which provide gifts and presents for those who are struggling during the holidays, with special attention to the needs of children. Working closely with New Hope Ministries, New Oxford School District and SafeHome Shelter (YWCA), we gather gifts and select 40 to 50 children and buy them new clothing, toys, books and fun activities that we wrap and pray it will brighten their Christmas season.
